Pricing per person based on double occupancy.  Limited single occupancy rooms may be available for an additional fee of $839. Trip price does not include lift tickets.

Known for the Nagano Winter Olympics, Hakuba is at the foot of the Northern Japan Alps. Seven nights lodging at 5-star Hakuba Tokyu Hotel (Hakuba) - two restaurants, bar/lounge, spa, shop, laundry, ski rentals all on-premises. On-site alkaline hot spring and fee-based aromatherapy services. Free snowshoe rentals for hiking. Available non-ski/snowboard activities include snowmobiling, snow rafting, hot air ballooning, Hakuba Meister nature walking tours. Three nights at 4-star Shinagawa Prince Hotel (southern Tokyo) - 13 restaurants, bar/lounge, cafe, laundry, arcade/game room, bowling alley, golf driving range, aquarium, movie theater, karaoke all on-premises. Plus, the rest of the world's largest city which is a mix of ancient culture and hi-tech.

Trip Price Includes:

  • R/T airfare non-stop from Newark to Tokyo with ground transportation to hotels, transfers with English-speaking assistants, baggage handling and gratuities

  • Daily buffet breakfast at both hotels
  • Four 4-course dinners at Hakuba
  • Transportation from Nagano to Tokyo on the famous Shinkansen bullet train
  • Meet and greet with free drink and orientation with local guides upon arrival
  • The rates to purchase single- or multi-day lift passes at Hakuba are generally expected to cost about one-half to one-third of the group rate for a multi-day pass at major resorts in the western U.S.

    Mountain Info:

    • 10 unique mountains offering plenty for everyone from beginners to experts, from mellow groomers to steep verticals, bumps and trees
    • Shuttle bus system to mountains; transport times range from about 3 to 60 minutes from hotel location, with 6 mountains within 30 minutes
    • Averages 11-13 meters of "Japow" annually
    • Mountain peak elevations range from 1,200 to 1,831 meters; verticals range from 260 to 1,071 meters; skiable acres range from 75 to 550, totaling about 2,308 acres, plus extensive sidecountry and backcountry access

      **This is your maximum liability.  Actual refund will be determined when the trip books close.  A minimum cancellation fee of $50 is charged in all circumstances.

      Please note there is a 3.1% processing fee for using a Visa or MasterCard. For payments sent by mail, receipts can only be mailed back to you if a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided; otherwise, receipts are available from the trip leaders at regular membership meetings.


      This trip is open to current SJSC and EPSC members only and requires completion of Hold Harmless agreement (Sample HHA).  Early bird pricing applies to current SJSC members only.
